Martin Murphy's latest book is "Return to the Lord." It is brief commentary and exposition of the book of Hosea based on my Bible study notes used for teaching and preaching through the book. It will consist of fifteen chapters. The following is a quote from chapter one. "
This is a book about religion because we find religious words dominate Hosea’s preaching. Those words are: wisdom, understanding, prudence, and knowledge. Every prominent religion known throughout human history has used those words to make a place in history. Christians are not looking for place; they are looking for a person! That person is the one true and living God.
This brief commentary and exposition of Hosea comes from my preparation to preach and teach through this book. The notes are conceptual. They are not intended to be a thorough analytical commentary, but rather I tried to summarize the larger body of doctrine into short brief statements. These brief notes will be useful to pastors, Sunday School teachers, and laymen who want to dig deeper into the word of God.

$ 8.95 USDThe title of the book “Return to the Lord” is the theme and emphasis in this brief commentary of Hosea. “O Israel, return to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity; Take words with you and return to the Lord” (Hosea 14:1). This book traces the historical events and spiritual condition of Israel prior to the fall of the northern kingdom in 722 B.C. The Old Testament congregation turned away from the true God and committed spiritual adultery by worshipping false gods. This book will be useful to pastors, Sunday Schools teachers, and laymen who want to dig deeper into the word of God. |
